The flow meters red-y compact series are characterized by powerful technology, intelligent functions, and innovative design. The instruments offer a new level of ease of use: compact design with battery power, clear digital display and smart alarm functions. 

Accurate Measurement
The devices offer high accuracy and a wide dynamic range: Accuracy ± 1 – 3% of full scale (depending on application/measuring range) Turndown ratio 1 : 50.  

CMOS Sensor Technology
The CMOS semiconductor chip is the centerpiece of the flow meter. Analog-digital conversion takes place in the sensor. 

Portable operation
The flow meters can be powered with a battery or with a 24 Vdc power supply. Battery lifetime approx. 2 years. 


High-Precision Valve

In the versions with manual valves, high-precision needle valves are used. These valves allow fine adjustment of the flow rate


Through the application of high-precision MEMS technology (CMOS sensors), the thermal flow meters and controllers from Vögtlin Instruments AG set new standards in terms of response characteristics and measuring accuracy, and are characterized by maximum convenience:

Pressure Transmitters

Pressure transmitters are used for the electronic measurement and evaluation of pressure values. They are available in many different versions with regard to pressure and electrical connections, measurement procedures, electric output signals, and approvals (CE, Ex, Shipbuilding, Railways). Two different sensor technologies are available, namely thin-film-on-steel (weld-sealed design without O-rings) and thick-film-on-ceramic.

Stainless Steel Double

Type 316 is an austenitic chromiumnickel stainless steel containing molybdenum. This addition increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. Properties are similar to those of Type 304 except that this alloy is somewhat stronger at elevated temperatures. Corrosion resistance is improved, particularly against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric acids; acid sulfates and alkaline chlorides.

Type 316L is an extra-low carbon version of Type 316 that minimizes harmful carbide precipitation due to welding. Typical uses include exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, heat exchangers, jet engine parts, pharmaceutical and photographic equipment, valve and pump trim, chemical equipment, digesters, tanks, evaporators, pulp, paper and textile processing equipment, parts exposed to marine atmospheres and tubing. Type 316L is used extensively for weldments where its immunity to carbide precipitationdue to welding assures optimum corrosion resistance.

Panterra is a series of intelligent gas detectors supporting a variety of sensing chemistries and technologies. Product family members are differentiated by sensor type and are selected according to application requirements and the type of target sensing environment (EG anaerobic and zero humidity conditions). 

Supported sensor types include thermal conductivity, metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS), electrochemical, catalytic (pellistor), and acoustic devices. The detectors are offered as self-contained units or with extendable sensing heads. 

Power consumption varies according to sensor type from 100mW to 1W. Input powering options are 5VDC (regulated) or 7-40VDC / 7-60VDC (unregulated). 


Hydrogen Sensor

HydroKnowz™ gas monitors comprise of an HCMOS microcontroller, a catalytic gas sensing element and amplifier, a semiconductor temperature sensor, a bi-color indicator LED and various optional signaling devices such as an alarm beeper, dry relay and D-to-A converter (or 4-20mA loop driver). Standard devices operate with 3VDC regulated input power. Wide input supply versions are available that accept 6-40VDC (or 6-55VDC). A one-wire bi-directional digital interface (PKPort™) may be used for set-up, calibration and remote monitoring via a PC.


Each time that power is applied the device enters a brief warm-up state after which active gas sensing functions commence. Gas concentrations and sensing state indications become available after the warm-up period has elapsed. Gas sensor signals are continuously sampled by an 8-bit A-D subsystem and are digitally filtered to reject burst noise and other spurious events. The filtered signal is then stripped of its baseline component and is spanned according to its memory-resident calibration values. The scaled signal is used to produce linear readings of gas concentration that may be accessed in real-time via the utput signal DAC, 4-20mA driver, or the PKPort™ interface.

They are widely specified within medical equipment, food processing, industrial, automotive, water transfer systems, oil and gas, analytical instrumentation, clinical chemistry, HVAC, printing, environmental test chamber, semiconductor manufacturing, and larger pneumatic valve control applications.


Gems Sensors & Controls designs and manufactures a complete range of 2-way normally open/closed, 2-way normally closed, and 3-way directional miniature solenoid valves, available in general purposecryogenic (-320 °F) and isolationtypes. Their rugged construction incorporates a bubble tight plunger for reliable operation over millions of cycles without failure, making them ideal for use within demanding environments.
